Poppy Playtime is a survival horror video game created and published by American indie studio MOB Games. The player assumes the role of an ex-Playtime Co. worker, returning to the deserted toy factory ten years after the staff vanished. Controlling the character from a first-person view, you must solve puzzles, some needing a device called the GrabPack, to advance while evading various foes. Chapter one launched on Steam for Microsoft Windows on October 12, 2021, followed by Android and iOS versions on March 11, 2022. Chapter two arrived for Microsoft Windows on May 5, with chapter three anticipated for early 2023. Every chapter following the first will be distributed as downloadable content. The title rapidly earned favorable reviews for its gameplay upon initial launch, but later faced criticism after the developers announced non-fungible tokens, while the second chapter drew mixed reactions due to its buggy release.
