Rick and Morty Card Match

Rick and Morty Card Match is an American adult animated sci-fi sitcom developed by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon for Cartoon Network's late-night Adult Swim block. The show tracks the chaotic escapades of cynical mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his well-meaning yet anxious grandson, Morty Smith, as they balance home life with cross-dimensional exploits. Roiland provides the voices for the title characters, while Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer, and Sarah Chalke voice the rest of the family. The series began as an animated short parody of Back to the Future, made by Roiland for Channel 101, a short film festival co-founded by Harmon. Critics have praised the series for its originality, creativity, and wit. Season four debuted on November 10, 2019, featuring ten episodes. A fifth season was confirmed in July 2020, stemming from a May 2018 long-term agreement that commissioned 70 new episodes across an undefined number of seasons. The narrative centers on the experiences of the Smith household members: parents Jerry and Beth, their kids Summer and Morty, and Beth's father, Rick Sanchez, who resides with them as a guest. Per Justin Roiland, the family lives outside Seattle, Washington.[3] However, the adventures of Rick and Morty span infinite realities, with characters traveling to other planets and dimensions via portals and Rick's flying car. Rick is an eccentric, alcoholic mad scientist who rejects many standard norms like school, marriage, love, and family. He often embarks on trips with his 14-year-old grandson, Morty, a kind but easily stressed boy whose naive yet grounded morality contrasts with Rick's Machiavellian ego. Morty's 17-year-old sister, Summer, is a more typical teenager focused on boosting her social standing, though she occasionally joins Rick and Morty on their journeys. The children's mother, Beth, is generally level-headed and assertive within the home, despite feeling self-conscious about her career as a horse surgeon. She is unhappy with her marriage to Jerry, a simple-minded and insecure individual who disapproves of Rick's impact on the family.
